Master Bedroom with luscious dark blue walls, Mable Fox ltd, Interior Design, Cambridge

Your bedroom is the last thing you see each night when you go to bed, and the first thing you see when you wake up each morning. No wonder here at Mabel fox we consider this to be one of the most important rooms to get right. One of the most important aspects to consider is the colour scheme. Select the wrong colour and you could be looking at restless nights or starting the day in a bad mood. We neglect to consider how colour affects our mood and subconscious yet there is so much scientific evidence that demonstrates that it does. Luckily for you, here at Mabel Fox we have done extensive research into the effects of colours on your behalf and can work with you and your preferences to find a colour that works both for you while making sure you continue to wake on up the right side of bed.

For this project we transformed a run down 1930s bedroom in desperate need of some TLC into this cosy yet charismatic place of rest. We selected Stiffkey Blue by Farrow & Ball, brighter blues cause the brain to stay alert, perfect for elsewhere in the house but not ideal for a bedroom. A darker shade of navy blue created a restful environment while staying within the clients desired colour scheme. We paired this with soft furnishings, light fixture and home accessories in a contrasting lemon yellow to enliven the interior.
