The Mabel Fox Experience

“WE STRIVE TO CREATE INTERIORS THAT ARE WARM, THOUGHTFUL AND INVITING. OUR COMPANY ETHOS IS TO CREATE INTERIORS THAT ARE TAILORED MINDFULLY TO EACH CLIENT INDIVIDUAL WANTS, NEEDS AND LIFESTYLE“

Here at Mabel Fox our main purpose is to hold your hand through the design and installation of your dream home. This doesn't just include a quick selection of furniture as many people might think. We work closely with you, taking time to understand your lifestyle and interior preferences that will help us find design periods, styles and schemes we think you will love, conversing with you along the way to check that our visualisation aligns with your desires.

Maybe designing homes is not your forte, or the vast selection of interior goodies out there is a little overwhelming. Maybe you cannot figure out how to space plan so that your home life runs smoothly with space for all activities, are you sure you need that expensive extension? Or maybe work and family life take up most of your time and carefully designing a scheme is not what you want to be doing with the little free time you get? Whatever your reasoning, we are here to help!

So what exactly does our design process involve at Mabel Fox?

After an introductory meeting with you, we start by taking the time to really get to know you, not just as clients, but as individuals and your household as a whole. We think this is the most important part of the design process, as having an in-depth understanding of how your day to day, week to week, even year to year lives run the key to designing a home that works seamlessly for you. The interior of your home is extremely personal as it defines who you are as a household. Here at Mabel Fox we recognise this and like to have a warm relationship with our clients so that this can be reflected in the designs we propose. During one of these meetings, we take assessments of the space and bring along various samples. This helps to get the creative juices flowing and narrow down your likes and dislikes. You don't need to worry about not having a clear idea of what you might like your home to look like yet, it's our job to help guide you to what will really make you smile when you arrive home each day.

Sometimes in homes it is difficult to balance all the activities that go on under one roof. You may decide you need more space to fit it all in smoothly while keeping everything neat and tidy. Not always the case. Here at Mabel we specialise in space planning. This may consist of simply reorganising the furniture, possibly adding some built in cabinetry (bespoke designed by us) to make the space flow and create a well zoned and organised lifestyle. However often we will look at your interior layout and find a cost effective solution to your lack of functionable space. This can involve creating or removing interior walls to create space the way that best works for you! No need for an expensive extension. You would be surprised at the amount of clients that begin the process believing an extension is the only way forward and end up with a flawless home that is tailored to all their individual needs, just with a little space planning. However, if you decide you are still in need of extra space, our team can work with you to advise how much we would suggest on your budget, and advise you  on what planning permission are likely to allow. We work closely with trusted builders to get you a good price for a very well executed job.

Next up on our journey together…

Concept development! From our previous getting to know you meetings we carefully select a few design schemes that we think will best suit you and your design preferences. Not sure what your design preferences are? Not to worry we have that covered. It’s amazing how much we can pick up from a few conversations with you and a tour of your home, getting the gist of what you currently like and dislike and your opinions on your current home environment. From these we create a series of mood boards that we present to you, this is your opportunity to go away and have a think about what you love and would like to alter about each. After finding out your thorough opinion on the design schemes. We get back to the drawing board to finalise your scheme, taking special care to include all the design elements you love to ensure your new home will be the home of your dreams!

Why not try a 3D Render?

Struggling to picture the room from the mood boards? Not to worry. Another option we offer here at Mabel Fox is to have rendering complete for each room. This involves creating detailed visualizations using advanced computer programs that allow us to generate realistic imagery of the rooms before any purchases are made. These renders provide you with a clear idea of how the space will look once it is constructed, enabling you to make any necessary design changes. We feel that rendering the room before purchasing the design elements really helps to finalise exactly what you want.

Final Step!

After finalising the design with you, we get your drawings up to date ready for you to submit to the construction company of your choice. If any bespoke furniture has been designed for you we produce detailed carpentry drawings. Finally we produce a design report; a detailed document that lists every product needed for the design to be implemented. Now the design of your dream home is complete!
