How to transform your home this Spring

As we transition from winter to spring, we find ourselves eagerly anticipating the seasons positivity and charm. With longer days and the warmth of the sunshine, there's an undeniable desire to merge our interior spaces with the great outdoors. In the spirit of embracing this season of renewal and rejuvenation, let's explore how to seamlessly blend interior and exterior spaces to create a harmonious flow throughout your home.

1. Creating Tranquil Retreats

Summer beckons us to slow down and savour the simple pleasures of life. Transform your interior spaces into tranquil retreats where you can unwind and relax. We suggest moving your favourite chair, or a new one, into the area of the room that receives beautiful afternoon sunlight. This will be best in a south facing room, so whether this be creating a gorgeous sunlit reading space in your living room or bedroom, work with your homes orientation and create the perfect sunlit spot to curl up with a good book or enjoy a leisurely afternoon nap. Consider adding soft, airy textiles in lighter tones or pastel hues  to incorporate a sense of serenity and rejuvenation. Another small touch this summer is to draw back the big winter curtains and use just blinds as window dressings, or replace them with lightweight summer curtains. A stylish or simplistic window display will help draw the eye out and create some lovely shadows around the room.

2. Bringing the Outdoors In

One of the most delightful aspects of summer is the opportunity to blur the lines between inside and outside. For larger home renovations, consider French, patio or bi-fold doors, or even multiple, leading onto a patio. This creates a seamless flow between indoor and outdoor dining and living spaces, perfect for the summer months. Place your outdoor furniture just outside these doors to bring the indoors outdoors, all the comforts of being at home but while soaking up the glorious summer sunshine. What more could you want.

3. Biophilic Design

As the season transitions and new beginnings emerge, why not infuse your home with the vibrant energy of nature? One delightful way to celebrate this time of year is to arrange potted plants and fresh flowers around your home. Whether it's a burst of elegance and colour from a floral arrangement, or the addition of a large sturdy potted plant, adding some foliage to your home can instantly uplift the ambiance and bring warmth, rejuvenation, and elegance to your home interior.

Al Fresco Dining

There's something undeniably magical about dining al fresco on a warm summers evening. Whether you have a spacious patio or a cozy balcony, make the most of your outdoor space by creating a welcoming dining area. Hosting friends and family has never been easier when you can combine outdoor space and indoor functionality. String up lights and add outdoor lamps and lanterns to add a touch of ambiance to these memorable summer nights.

As we transition into spring, let's embrace the opportunity to seamlessly blend our interior and exterior spaces. From creating tranquil retreats to incorporating biophilic design elements, let's celebrate the beauty of each season and let this be reflected within our living spaces. Please share any photos of the spring heaven you create, we would love to see!
