I have a gorgeous friend who commissioned me to create a beetle design as a gift for her father, a brilliant entomologist. After researching which beetle I would like to use, I discovered that the Panagaeus Crux Major is a rare beetle that was found by Charles Darwin when he was out hunting for specimens during his time studying at Christ’s College Cambridge. Obvious choice really as my friend lives in Cambridge, and she loves the fact that all the plant life in the design is found in this beetle’s natural habitat. I really enjoyed researching for this project and I hope you enjoy the result of my study.
All my prints are hand drawn, then cut in to lino and printed by hand by myself using water based ink and 220 gsm paper. The actual image is 30cm x 30cm square. The paper is cut to 40cm x 50cm
The print is sold unframed and fits easily into a standard frame, or I can frame it for you, including mounting, please ask for details.
This is a limited edition design, there are three different colour options for Panagaeus Crux Major, 50 prints of each colour.
This print would be a lovely gift to brighten up any room in the house.
